The SLGA waved goodbye to ID checks for those who look over 25 years old! 🙌 For all you young-lookin’ people, make sure you still carry photo ID with you while shopping at LSC! (If we ask for your ID, treat it as a compliment!😉) This rule change is a huge step in the right direction for normalizing cannabis and ending the stigma that surrounds our industry. 🥳 #shoplocal

This weekend our team had the privilege of having @prairieharmreduction come and train us on how to identify and assist in the event of an opioid overdose. They’ve equipped all of our locations with narcan and naloxone kits as well as education so we can assist when an overdose is occurring. All of our LSC locations now have narcan and naloxone kits readily available so if you’re out in the community and an overdose is happening, know you can access these kits as well as someone who knows how to use them at any of our locations!⚠️ A huge thank you to our trainer, Keith, for providing an engaging and eye opening training session for our staff (free of charge)! If you’re a business or an individual who is interested in learning how to help in the event of an overdose, reach out to @prairieharmreduction to book a training session. Overdoses can happen (and are happening) anytime and anywhere in our community, these kits are the difference between life and death.

Friday is National Truth & Reconciliation Day. As a cannabis retailer, operating on Treaty 6 land, we are working towards carrying more Indigenous brands in our stores. Representation in our industry is needed. Current Indigenous brands operating within the legal framework are facing higher barriers of entry than non-Indigenous companies. They are also navigating legislation that is lacking in terms of consultation with Indigenous communities.   Here are a couple of brands we sell at LSC that are delivering prosperity and social impact to the communities where they live and work. We would like to see more partnerships with Indigenous brands so we can continue to stock products like these and more. Let’s push the industry to work towards advancing lasting, meaningful, reconciliation.
